MEMBRANE FILTER PRESS

Membrane filter press is a filter which separates the solid part of the oil (stearine) from the liquid part of the oil (olein) at the temperature of the filtration, using the principle of pressure drive, which is provided by a positive displacement pump and a squeezing medium. It goes by batch operation, and a fixed volume which is determined by the number of plates and the depth of the plates.

MFP consists of:

  • Skeleton which holds the filter packs together

  • hydraulic unit and cylinder which is used to close and open the MFP, and to ensure the MFP is closed tightly to prevent leakage during the filtration process where there is internal pressure

  • filter pack which consists of membrane filter plates and chamber filter plates (mixed pack)

  • filter clothes and other miscellaneous items
